BCCI was hired during preconstruction for the renovation of this existing YMCA facility. The project scope included reconfiguring the building entryway, repositioning program areas to maximize underutilized space, as well as design/build modifications to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Accessibility was a key consideration, as the center remained fully operational throughout construction. Work activities and deliveries were coordinated around the facility’s ‘peak hours’ to minimize disruption to members and visitors. The schedule-driven project achieved all targeted milestones on time and, most importantly, on budget. As a not-for-profit, the client was especially pleased with BCCI’s effectiveness in completing the renovations without hindering its ability to serve the community.
