BCCI worked closely with Recology to fulfill their vision for the use of sustainable design and building practices in its new headquarters in the financial district. 50 California was only selected after an in-depth study of building choices, based on Recology’s desire to create the most eco-minded space possible. This full-floor build-out included repurposed materials such as reclaimed wood doors, cork flooring, coconut tile backsplash and furniture made from recycled landfill scraps. Energy efficient lighting systems and exposed ceilings were incorporated throughout. The project was completed on schedule for Recology’s branding launch. BCCI also provided full LEED consulting services, guiding the project team to the goal of achieving LEED CI-Gold status.
