Samyama means to “hold together” or “bind” – a name suited for a yoga center that goes beyond the typical studio design in order to bring its surrounding Silicon Valley community together for a unique experience. The client intended for an exceptional Center that clearly set it apart from all other yoga studios. Because the project was driven by design, BCCI remained flexible throughout the process while decisions were being made and changed weekly. The BCCI team provided constructability expertise, cost and schedule controls, and alternative solutions for affordable materials without compromising the design intent. Characteristics of the two-story center include modular and artistic feature walls, soundproof double-wall installation, and state-of-the-art audio/visual and lighting systems. The A/V and lighting allows the yogis to customize a variety of ambiance in the yoga room. In addition, the Center offers its members a retail store, zen lounge, locker rooms, and outdoor patio deck. This sustainable project achieved USGBC LEED-CI Gold certification.
